“Life can often feel complicated and full of struggles. My commitment as a therapist is to help guide my clients through difficult issues to gain balance, wholeness, resiliency, insight and success in life.”
Lorri Ballard, MA, LPCC
I am a native New Mexican who traveled around for quite some time before re-rooting in New Mexico in 2009. I now live in Santa Fe with my partner and two lively, curious and wonderful boys. I graduated from Southwestern College with a graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling. Previous to this I was a high school English teacher in New York and also hold a MA in adolescent education.
My theoretical orientation is an integration of trauma-informed and evidence-based modalities including EMDR; Internal Family Systems (IFS); depth psychology, primarily from a Jungian perspective; and cognitive-behavioral techniques. I believe that the resolution of issues come when both practical reality and practical solutions are addressed alongside unconscious processes. I have experience working with a wide variety of mental health issues both chronic and acute. I have extensive training in EMDR, IFS, Sandplay therapy and depth therapy.
My hope is that through continued collaboration between therapist and client, healing, resiliency and a greater conscious-knowing of Self will emerge.
